Seneca Branch of Oconee Public Library To Honor Betty Dubose

The Seneca branch of the Oconee Public Library will be closed all day on Wednesday, April 7. At that time, a new public service desk will be installed in memory of Betty DuBose, who passed away last year. She was the head librarian in Seneca from 1968, when the library was first built, until 1995 when it became a part of the county library system. A dedication ceremony will be held at a date to be announced soon.

Funding for the desk was provided by memorial donations to the Oconee County Friends of the Library, through used book sales, and by Mrs. DuBose’s family through their foundation.

The timing also coincides with National Library Week, which runs April 4-10.

The Seneca Library Branch will reopen Thursday, April 8, at its normal time.
