Seneca Candidates thank Voters for Support

Only 713 of a possible 5,433 registered voters or 13% cast ballots on Tuesday in the Seneca Municipal Election. The top vote getter was Scott Durham with 487. “I’m just kind of letting it all sink in, my phone is ringing off the hook, but I’m very excited to get back on there and go full at it and work with everybody. I’m just excited to help the people of the City of Seneca; that’s what it is all about.” Joel Ward received 460 votes. Denise Rozman garnered 394 votes and was very thankful to voters for casting ballots in her favor. “I want to thank every single person who came out and voted for me. If you ever think your vote doesn’t count, it does. I won by a little bit more margin this time, but I just want to thank you and I am ready to serve our great City of Seneca for another four years.” Those three candidates all ran as incumbents, the only challenger to be elected was W.C. Honeycutt Jr. with 354 votes. “I’m a little bit overwhelmed but I’m thankful for the opportunity to serve my community and to be a voice for the people on city council. So, my job really is to let the community know what we are about, what we are doing, so that they don’t feel like they are left in the dark on what is happening in our city.” Stuart Pohl received 348 votes and Robert B. Holbrooks garnered 220. These results are still unofficial and must be canvassed by the Oconee County Board of Voter Registration and Elections on Thursday before making them official.
