Seneca City Council Chambers Get Makeover; Council Approves Donation Requests

Seneca City Council met last night for their first regular meeting of the month.

The meeting began with members of Seneca High School’s Emerging Women and the group’s co-president Kendall Willis approaching the governing body to request a donation for their annual community fair in the amount of $1500…

This year’s community fair will benefit the NOLA Network, of which council member Lekesha Benson is a cofounder and as such, recused herself from voting. The council approved that donation, along with two others, one to the Oconee County branch of the NAACP in the amount of $1,050 and another to Wreaths Across America-Wizard of Tamassee in the amount of $1,500.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For several weeks now, renovations have been underway in council chambers at City Hall in Seneca. In addition to new seating for both the council and the public, a fresh coat of paint, new window shades and carpeting have been put in place.

But City Administrator Scott Moulder said that a new monitor will be installed facing the city council for their convenience during presentations, and he also said the city is implementing a new Bluetooth system to be utilized by the hearing impaired…
