Seneca City Council Tables Rezoning Request

Several residents from Seneca showed up last night for the regular November City Council meeting to express their thoughts on the possibility of rezoning approximately 20 acres of land on Old Salem Road near the Loran Pointe neighborhood.

Currently, the land is zoned RM-16 for multi-family dwellings, and has been zoned as such for more than a decade. The property owner submitted a proposal to the Seneca Planning Commission that requested rezoning part of the property to PDC – planned development commercial. City Administrator Scott Moulder said that at the last minute on Friday, an amendment to the request was submitted…

And with that recommendation, the item was tabled by the city council and sent back to the planning commission for further review. Members of the Loran Pointe community briefly spoke, however, many chose to withhold their comments until the matter returns to the city council.
