Seneca City Council Unanimously Rejects Proposed Workforce Housing Project on EN 1st Street

On Tuesday night, the Seneca City Council unanimously voted against a proposed RM-16 zone for a property on EN 1st Street, which was intended for an affordable workforce housing project.

This decision aligns the city’s elected officials with their advisory planning commission, which had previously recommended against an application from Mercy Housing Southeast of Atlanta.

Scott Moulder, the city administrator, initially remained open to the possibility of accommodating the project. However, in his report to the city council, he admitted that he was unable to find a mutually agreeable alternative.
