Seneca holding Sealed Bid Auction

The City of Seneca is selling surplus vehicles and equipment. Labeled sealed bids are being accepted until noon on Friday, Oct. 24, at the City of Seneca Public Works Department located at 298 East South 1st Street. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander says a list of the items up for auction is available on the city’s website. “You can go to our website and you can see a list, some of it is vehicles, some is equipment, yard equipment and different things, but you can sort of see what it is and you can put in a sealed bid till Friday.” The city’s website is www.seneca.sc.us. All items will be sold in their current condition. These vehicles and equipment up for auction are part of a procedure, which allows the city to sell surplus items, adds Mayor Alexander. “That is a procedure that we have to go through when we get rid of public property, we have to put it out for bids. When we get enough things, usually we like to have between 10-15 different things before we have an auction, so they have accumulated enough stuff where we could sell it through bids. This is stuff that has been through about every department in our city and some of it is stuff that didn’t come through the city, some of it is through the Police Department.” Bids will be opened at 12:30pm on Friday, Oct. 24, at the City of Seneca Public Works Department. The City of Seneca reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids.
