Seneca Homicide Under Investigation

According to Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis, the 21-year-old Greenville man who died Wednesday night in Seneca is identified as:  Garrett Edward White.

Coroner Addis said that Mr. White was in the driver seat of his vehicle when he was shot.  This incident was initially reported at 9:53 pm.   He was provided medical care by Seneca Police, Seneca Fire and EMS at the Laing Court incident location for his gunshot injury; he ultimately died at the scene at 10:38 pm.
An autopsy was performed Thursday morning; Mr. White died from a single gunshot wound to his left upper back that resulted in internal trauma.
His manner of death is classified a Homicide.
This incident remains under investigation by the Seneca Police Department.
Seneca Police Chief Casey Bowling said that at approximately 10 o’clock Wednesday night they received a phone call in reference to a shooting in the area of Laing court in Seneca.
Officers arrived on scene and found a white male with a gunshot wound inside a vehicle. Officers rendered aide until EMS arrived. He was the driver of the vehicle. The victim passed away at the scene. Coroner Addis arrived on scene.
This was an isolated incident between two individuals. We do not have anyone in custody at this time. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Seneca PD at 885-2718.
