Seneca Lions helping Community see clearly

A non-profit, community service organization is helping citizens in the Seneca area see more clearly.  “The Lions Club focus is on eye conservation, sight conservation.  The Seneca Lions Club probably devotes 90% of our activities to that.  We provide glasses and examinations to individuals here who do not have insurance, who can not find other means or resources to help them.” That was Seneca Lions Club President Ed McCann.  He gives the number of people help by the Seneca Lions to get glasses so far this year. “So far year to date we have already bought 85 pairs of glasses.  That follows up the last couple of years, in 2012, we provided 104 pairs of glasses to individuals and in 2011, we provided 105.  So, we are already well on our way to exceeding 100 provisions for glasses in the Seneca area alone.” McCann thanks the community for donating to the Seneca Lions Club. “We can only do it with th help of the public, you know we return almost all the money we make and we are a non-profit, so we don’t sit here and sit on money.” If you live in the Seneca area, do not have insurance and are in need of glasses, stop by the SHARE office near the Post Office in downtown Seneca.  The Seneca Lions Club works with the SHARE office on identifying needy individuals in the community.
