Seneca Man arrested for Burglary and Grand Larceny

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest Sunday morning of a suspect wanted on charges of first-degree burglary and grand larceny.  Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details.  “35-year-old Gary Landon Medlin of 213 Evergreen Circle in Seneca was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on first-degree burglary charges and grand larceny charges. According to investigators, an Oconee County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to 847 Shannon Lane in Seneca on Monday morning, September 9th in regards to a burglary. The complainant at the residence stated that an unknown subject had kicked in the front door to the residence and reportedly stole multiple firearms and technology items. The compliant then told the deputy that witnesses reported seeing a grey in color mini-van that was at the location. The crime scene was investigated by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. On Wednesday, September 11th, arrest warrants were signed against Medlin on the two charges. The warrant on first-degree burglary states that “the defendant, or another participant, while entering, inside or immediate flight from, was armed with a deadly weapon.” The warrant on grand larceny states that the items taken from the residence “all valued at more than $2,000 but less than $10,000.” Investigators were able to recover the firearms that were taken and some property.” The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation and more arrest may be pending.
