Seneca Man arrested in Domestic Violence Incident

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man early Friday morning on charges stemming from a domestic violence incident. Deputies were dispatched to an address on Timberlake One Circle around 2:18am in regards to a report of domestic violence. Deputies arrived on the scene and after knocking, were met at the door by 57-year-old Randall Hank McGuffin. He told deputies that his wife was asleep but deputies said that they needed to see and speak with her to make sure she was okay. McGuffin’s wife came out of the bedroom and both individuals made their way outside to speak with deputies, who noticed she had difficulty moving. Soon thereafter, the wife told deputies that her husband, McGuffin, had assaulted her. After checking her injuries, the wife was transported to the hospital and McGuffin was placed under arrest. The incident scene was turned over to an investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division. McGuffin stands charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. According to warrants, McGuffin is accused of stabbing his wife in the chest with a large kitchen knife and breaking a vase on her head.
