Seneca Man arrested in Stolen Trailer Case

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man on charges of petit larceny involving a stolen trailer. Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt gives details. “29-year-old Wallace Dewayne Reece of 575 Singing Pines Road was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center. Deputies began their investigation on Dec. 6 after being contacted by a complainant stating that a 5×11 trailer had been stolen. The complainant also told the deputy that a bathtub on the trailer was also taken. Witnesses also told the complainant that they observed a blue in color Ford truck on the property. According to warrants, the property from which the trailer was taken is on Highway 59 south of the Tokeena Crossroads. As the investigation continued by the Criminal Investigations Division, deputies were able to locate the trailer and identify Reece as the individual who took the trailer as well as confirming that he was driving the Ford truck in question. Investigators, according to warrants, believe that the trailer was taken on or about Dec. 5. Those warrants were obtained on Dec. 8. The value of the trailer and the bathtub is around $1,200.00, according to investigators. Investigators say that the trailer has been returned to the owner.” Wallace was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on a $2,130 personal recognizance bond.
