Seneca Man arrested on Drug and Shoplifting Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man last Friday afternoon on multiple charges, including two charges involving drugs, explains Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt.  “55-year-old David Russell Sosebee of 1200 Fairoaks Circle, Apt. 101 was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 3:47pm on May 9. According to the incident report, a deputy responded early Friday afternoon to the Dollar General on Shiloh Road in Seneca in regards to a shoplifting complaint.  When the deputy arrived, an employee of the store notified the deputy that Sosebee shoplifted a pair of reading glasses, which were valued at around $6.  Sosebee was stopped as he was heading to his vehicle and brought back to the store to wait for the arriving deputy. Sosebee admitted to the deputy that he took the glasses and he was placed under arrest for shoplifting.  A search incident to arrest was conducted, in which the deputy found a blue pill bottle in one of Sosebee’s front pants pockets which contained 7 yellow oblong pills and 18 orange oval pills.  In addition, the deputy discovered in Sosebee’s other front pants pocket a plastic bag that contained 56 of the same yellow oblong pills as well as $100 in cash in the same plastic bag.  According to warrants, Sosebee has been charged with possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone) with intent to distribute and possession of another controlled substance (alprazolam) as well as the shoplifting charges.”  Sosebee was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on a personal recognizance bond of $17,130.
