Seneca Man arrested on Grand Larceny Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office served a Seneca man already behind bars with multiple arrest warrants. Originally arrested and booked into the Detention Center on Nov. 5, 38-year-old Carey Joe Tollison was served with six grand larceny warrants and one breach of trust warrant at the jail. According to arrest warrants, Tollison is charged with stealing a Pace covered utility trailer, valued at $5,500, from Clearmont Baptist Church on Clearmont Road in Westminster back on Sept. 14. Other arrest warrants charge Tollison with stealing a 2006 Yamaha recreational vehicle from an address on Tokeena Road sometime between Sept. 4-7, a utility trailer, two Honda motorcycles and other tools from an address on Singing Pines Road sometime between Oct. 5-6, a 22-foot Hooper Trailer, a Kodiak rotary cutter and an implement from an address on Wells Highway on Oct. 16, a black dump utility trailer from an address on Granite Drive on Oct. 24, and a EZ Go golf cart, valued at around $5,500 from an address on Swaney’s Landing Road sometime between Oct. 31 and Nov. 8. All of these crimes occurred in the Seneca area. Tollison is also accused in warrants of receiving a utility trailer in trust with the fraudulent intent to deprive the owner in an incident that occurred on Sept. 25 at an address on Stribling Shoals Road in Walhalla. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing their investigation.
