Seneca Man arrested on Multiple Drug Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man this week on multiple drug charges. Deputies responded to an address on South Davis Drive in Fair Play regarding a warrants service. The homeowner allowed deputies to search the residence. Deputies discovered drug paraphernalia inside a room of the residence and were given consent to search the room. The homeowner claimed everything inside the room except two bags sitting on the floor that were discovered to be 33-year-old Joshua Matthew Stewart. Deputies received permission from Stewart to search the bags, upon which deputies discovered what appeared to be marijuana, methamphetamine and prescription drugs. Stewart was placed under arrest and transported to the Oconee County Detention Center charged with one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and two counts of distribution of a controlled substance.
