Seneca Man Arrested on Multiple Sexual Exploitation Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man Wednesday on multiple charges related to Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.

28 year old Daniel Eugene Taylor of Padgett Street was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 2:28 pm on a Temporary Custody Order until arrest warrants were obtained today.

Taylor has been charged with eight counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Third Degree and 24 counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Second Degree. At this time, Taylor remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.

An investigator from the Criminal Investigations Division, who serves as a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children taskforce, received a CyberTip in regards to reports of Child Pornography.

Based upon evidence contained in the CyberTip, investigators made contact with Taylor at his residence and placed him under arrest.

According to information in the arrest warrants obtained by investigators, the charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 3rd Degree deal with the possession of material while the charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – 2nd Degree deal with distribution of the material. According to the warrants, the material contains “a visual representation of a minor engaged in sexual activity or appearing in a state of sexually explicit nudity.”

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation.
