Seneca Man arrested on Shoplifting Charges

A Seneca man is behind bars on two separate charges of shoplifting that involved two TVs value at more than $700. Deputies with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Stanley Barnard Caldwell.  According to warrants, Caldwell is accused on September 6th of taking a 32” Vizio television valued at $348, from the Walmart in Seneca.  Two days later Caldwell is also accused of stealing a 42” Vizio TV valued at $428 from the same location. According to the warrant for the September 6th shoplifting, Caldwell has two or more previous convictions for shoplifting. If found guilty, any third or subsequent offense for shoplifting is considered a class E felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison regardless of the value of the property involved.
