Seneca Man arrested on Shoplifting Charges

A Seneca man is behind bars on two separate charges of shoplifting that involved two TVs value at more than $700. Deputies with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested 53-year-old Stanley Barnard Caldwell.  According to warrants, Caldwell is accused on September 6^th of taking a 32” Vizio television valued at $348, from the Walmart in Seneca.  Two days later Caldwell is also accused of stealing a 42” Vizio TV valued at $428 from the same location. According to the warrant for the September 6^th shoplifting, Caldwell has two or more previous convictions for shoplifting. If found guilty, any third or subsequent offense for shoplifting is considered a class E felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison regardless of the value of the property involved.
