Seneca Man Jailed on Attempted Murder Charge
Alteno Jeroid Oglesby, a 35-year-old man from Seneca, remains incarcerated without bond following his arrest Sunday on multiple charges, including Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon during Commission of a Violent Crime, and Unlawfully Placing a Child at Risk stemming from an incident at his White Oak Hill Drive residence.
Oglesby was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on Sunday morning after deputies responded to reports of a shooting involving an adult female victim. Upon arrival, deputies took Oglesby into custody and discovered that during an argument inside the residence, he fired a handgun multiple times into the floor before shooting the victim in the upper torso.
Notably, there was a child present in the room during the altercation, along with two teenagers elsewhere in the house. The case has been handed over to a Violent Crimes Investigator, with no further details being released by the Sheriff’s Office concerning the victim’s identity or condition, as well as to protect the privacy of the minors involved in the incident.
The investigation by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office remains active.
