Seneca Man jailed on Outstanding Criminal Domestic Violence Warrant

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man Tuesday afternoon on an outstanding criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature warrant. After being transported from the Franklin County, Georgia Detention Center, 28-year-old Javaris Dante Montgomery was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center. A deputy met with the victim on April 22 at an address at BI-LO place in Seneca in regards to the incident in which the victim stated that Montgomery had assaulted her, threatened to kill her and choked her. Deputies began their investigation and the case was turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. In warrants obtained on April 24, Montgomery made the threats to a member of his household. Also according to the warrants, Montgomery is accused of holding knives to her throat as well. Montgomery remains at the Detention Center on a $50,000 surety bond.
