Seneca Man jailed on Weapons Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man this week on charges of discharging a firearm into a dwelling. Deputies responded to an address on Poole Drive in the Seneca area during the early morning hours of July 23 regarding reports of a shooting incident. Deputies spoke with the complainant who stated that while sitting on the front porch of the residence a white Ford Crown Victoria drove by and started shooting. The complainant was not injured. During the course of the investigation, entry points were found where rounds fired from a gun had entered the residence and casings were also discovered on the property. As the investigation continued, it was determined that 19-year-old Carleton Dennard Jinks II of Seneca was the shooter in the case and an arrest warrant was obtained against him. Jinks remains in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center.
