Seneca Man killed in Westminster Shooting

A 21-year-old Seneca man died Tuesday morning from an apparent gunshot injury to his neck.  The incident occurred at a residence located at 108 Mount Pleasant Road in Westminster shortly before 7am.  Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis pronounced James Evan Tyner dead at the scene.  He was found dead along the shoulder of Blackjack Road at the intersection of Mount Pleasant Road, which is about 40 to 50 yards from the Mount Pleasant Road address where a shotgun was found lying in the yard.  Addis said an autopsy will be performed today to assist with the death investigation.  It is being investigated as a homicide.
