Seneca Man sentenced for Sexual Assault

Tenth Circuit Solicitor Chrissy Adams announces that a Seneca man has been sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for kidnapping and sexually assaulting a neighbor he lured to his home. On Sept. 27, 2013, Wilbur Rickmon asked a neighbor to help him access the internet at his house. Once inside, Rickmon offered the victim $50 for sex. When she refused, Rickmon pinned her down and raped her. On Wednesday, an Oconee County jury found Rickmon guilty of criminal sexual conduct in the first degree and kidnapping. The Honorable Lawton McIntosh sentenced Rickmon to life without parole. “Wilbur Rickmon is a violent criminal with a history that dates back to the 1980’s,” stated Adams. “Due to the victim’s courage and the hard work of the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, Rickmon received the sentence that he deserved.”
