Seneca May Need To Borrow Until Federal Reimbursements Are Approved

Seneca’s Administrator Scott Moulder said at last night’s council meeting that the city has spent about $6 million dollars on expenses related to recovering from the April Tornado, and that he expects the total cost for the city will be between $8 and $9 million. FEMA is anticipating a reimbursement timeline of possibly one and up to three years due to receiving a higher than normal amount of reimbursement requests following the COVID-19 pandemic.
