Seneca PD raising money for another K9 Officer

In just three and half years time, Ava and her handler Lt. Joe Hamilton, have made over 300 arrests in the City of Seneca. Police K9s, like Ava, are the ultimate law enforcement weapons from finding a lost child, locating drugs, or tracking dangerous felons, they are the ultimate officers. The Seneca Police Department’s K9 Team seeks help from the community to purchase a second patrol dog, explains Staff Sergeant Mark Tiller. “We are actually going out into the community. I’m going out into the community along with my other partners to try to money for another dog that way we can have that perpetually, always have a dog for the city.” They hope to raise at least $15,000 to purchase and train a new K9 Officer. The Seneca Police Department is already preparing for a second K9 team, adds Staff Sergeant Tiller. “The administration at the Police Department they have graciously already set aside a vehicle that way it would not be any other cost to the taxpayers, so if we are able to raise that money the vehicle is already there.” All donations are tax deductible.
