Seneca Police arrest Drug Suspect after Chase

A surveillance operation by Narcotics Investigators with the Seneca Police Department resulted in the arrest of a drug suspect after a chase and the suspect’s car hitting a tree near Wells Highway. Seneca Police Chief John Covington reports that Tuesday around noon, an officer spotted an Acura on South 6th Street driven by 20-year-old Devin Samuel Prater of Westminster. Officers observed several bags tossed from the driver’s window during the chase, which ended in a wreck on Singing Pines Road. Prater’s Acura hit a tree. After a brief foot chase, Prater was arrested on possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance charges. In addition, police confiscated a quantity of marijuana, $178 and hypodermic needles.
