Seneca promoting Restaurants

Looking for a place to eat in Upstate South Carolina?  Well, look no further than www.seneca.sc.us.  Seneca is now promoting restaurants inside the city limits that support the city’s hospitality and accommodations tax or HAT tax. Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander explains.  “We wanted to be able to say thank you to our sponsors and our HAT sponsors too.  All of our events are paid for, almost every bit of it, with HAT money.  There are certain businesses here in town that pays that tax.  They collect it for us from the people that come into their business.” Each week, Seneca will be spotlighting these HAT sponsors on its website, adds Mayor Alexander.  “So, that actually tells you every business that we have here in Seneca that sells food.  You can look at that list and what we are going to do every week is recognize a couple of them to let them how much we appreciate what they do here in this community because without them we would not be able to do the HAT requests, which supports all the events we do during the year.”  The mayor encourages the community to patronize these restaurants that support the city’s HAT tax, which funds events during the year in Seneca.
