Seneca Website drawing Visitors

More people are visiting the City of Seneca, at least online anyway.  According to figures from March 15 through April 15, 2014, the city’s website at www.seneca.sc.us welcomed over 10,000 visitors.  Seneca Events Coordinator Riley Johnson gives details.  “We had 10,689 visits, but here is some interesting news, unique visits, now that is the technological term that advertisers look at and it means that visitors spent at least one or two minutes looking around, trying to find information, we had 7,500.  As far as page views, we had 27,647 in one month.” More than half of those visits were from first timers, adds Johnson.  “Out of all those 10,689 visits, 55% were first timers, so that means our website is getting out there.” Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander feels the website is a tool that the city can use to reach more people. “This is something that city council, 4 or 5 years ago, that we felt like we could do better.  We knew the website was a tool that we could get out but when you start hearing these kinds of numbers and that many people looking at your website, you know that we are doing something right.  You open up to the world and people anywhere in the world can look at your website.” Johnson credits Jeff Hopkins for his efforts making the website a place to visit. “Our website is kind of our window to the world; it gives a chance for everybody to take a peek at the City of Seneca.  It is just tremendous and I can’t thank Jeff Hopkins enough for the job he does.” Check out what is going on in the City of Seneca by visiting www.seneca.sc.us.
