Seneca Woman arrested for contributing to the delinquency of Minors

Seneca Police arrested a 33-year-old woman as part of an investigation into accusations of immoral and illegal conduct at a home on Hillsborough Drive near Seneca Middle School. In a press release, Seneca Police Chief John Covington announced that in December 2014, the investigative division of the Seneca Police Department initiated an investigation into allegations of immoral and illegal conduct involving three children at a Hillsborough Drive home. The children’s ages being 9, 11 and 13, with the dates of incidents reported to have occurred between May 1 and June 30, 2014. Pursuant to the investigation and forensic interviews of the children, three warrants were issued against Shauna Nicole McKinnon of Seneca for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The case involved allowing all of the children to smoke cigarettes with the 13-year-old victim being allowed to smoke marijuana, drink alcohol and observe how to manufacture different types of marijuana cigarettes with the other children present. McKinnon is not related to the victims and the children had been allowed to visit with her on occasion during this time. McKinnon was arrested on Jan. 28 and incarcerated at Oconee County Detention Center. The investigation remains ongoing.
