Seneca Woman arrested for Unlawful Neglect of a Child

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca woman yesterday on unlawful neglect of a child charges. A Narcotics Agent from the Sheriff’s Office was contacted by an employee of the Department of Social Services regarding 28-year-old Stephanie Lament Jones after she and her son both tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine. According to the arrest warrant, Jones tested positive for drugs in a drug test on June 12 while Jones’ 2-year-old son tested positive for drugs on June 19. The arrest warrant also states that the incident occurred at a location on the Utica Mill Hill. The child was placed in an undisclosed safe environment. Jones was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond.
