Seneca Woman Extradited to Oconee from VA

Shonetta Maria Goings, 31, of Hillsborough Drive, was charged by the Sheriff’s Office in two separate investigations.

In one incident that occurred on July 6th of this year, Goings was charged with First Degree Burglary and Domestic Violence – First Degree for entering a residence on Poplar Springs Road without consent and assaulting a woman with whom she had a relationship in the past and with whom she had a child in common. Goings allegedly used a sharp-pointed object to cause multiple puncture wounds to the victim’s head and face.

In a second incident which occurred on June 12th of this year, Goings was charged with Second Degree Burglary, Assault and Battery – 3rd Degree and Malicious Injury to Property for breaking into the same Poplar Springs Road residence, assaulting a different victim and causing damage to a door. Goings was transported from the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abington, VA (which is located just off Interstate 81 northeast of Bristol) and served with her arrest warrants.

She remains in the Oconee County Detention Center on a combined $48,372.50 surety bond.
