Seneca Woman faces Burglary and Larceny Charges

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Seneca woman on burglary and larceny charges in regards to an incident that occurred last week on the Utica Mill Hill, explains Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “22-year-old Precious Myriah Smith of 1000 Hillsborough Drive, Apt. 39 was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 12:59pm Tuesday afternoon. According to the incident report, a deputy responded to an address on Ames Street during the late evening hours of July 2 in response to a burglary call. Upon arrival, the deputy found evidence that the residence had been broken into. Later on, deputies were notified that several items were missing from the residence, including electronic items. In the course of the investigation by the Criminal Investigations Division, warrants were obtained charging Smith with First Degree Burglary and Petit Larceny. According to the warrants, Smith entered the residence during the nighttime hours and stole electronic items, including a television, $200 in change, shoes, and a safe. The value of all the items taken combined is less than $2,000.” Smith was released from the Oconee County Detention Center on a $52,000 personal recognizance bond.
