Seneca Youth Baseball Team competes for Regional Title

The District 1 eight and under Coaches Pitch Baseball Champions of the Dixie League gets crowned tonight at the Shaver Recreation Complex in Seneca. The undefeated Seneca team faces off with a one-loss Greer Nationals team in the double-elimination regional tournament Title Game at 6pm, explains Seneca Recreation Director Rick Lacey. “Our eight and under kids have played really well. These little kids have it all together and the coaches are doing a great job. The winner of this tournament will go to the state tournament but this year they are taking the first and second place teams from our district. So, we are going to state regardless but I know these kids would really love to win this tournament tonight. It would mean a lot to them, to their program and it would be a great thing for everybody.” All the exciting action takes place on Field 1 of the Shaver Recreation Complex, which is located next to Seneca Middle School.
