Senior Farmers Market Vouchers in Anderson County

From June 5-7, 2024, seniors in Anderson County can apply for produce vouchers as part of the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.

The program, a collaboration between local and state agencies, provides five $10 vouchers to eligible seniors, allowing them to buy produce at participating markets until October 15, 2024. Eligibility is based on age (60 or older), low monthly income, or receipt of SSI or EBT benefits. Applicants must apply in person with proof of identity, age, and residency in Anderson County, and meet household income limits.

Registration for vouchers will be held at the Iva Farmers Market on June 5, the Belton Farmers Market on June 6, and the Anderson County Farmers Market on June 7, from 8-10 a.m. each day. Volunteers will assist with registration. The program aims to enhance the diets of low-income seniors with fresh produce while supporting South Carolina farmers.
