Several Arrests in Oconee County Sunday and Monday

Dawson Monroe Addis

A man from Seneca is in jail for allegedly starting fires on Sunday. Dawson Monroe Addis, 32, is accused of lighting brush and trash on fire on land he does not own at N. Strawberry Farm Road. A fire fighter reportedly saw him walking and setting fires on the road. The fire fighter stopped him, and the sheriff’s office came and took him away. He is in custody at the Oconee County Detention Center on $257.50 surety bond.

Lance Tyler Bugg

In an unrelated incident, Lance Tyler Bugg, 40 of West Union, was arrested on Monday by Oconee County Deputies and charged with first degree burglary and assault. He is being held without bond at the Oconee County Detention Center.

Christie Leann Smith

Also on Monday, Christie Leann Smith, 42, of Seneca, was arrested for financial identity fraud and financial transaction card fraud. She is accused of stealing a cell phone from a yard sale in June and using the victim’s cards online, in stores and at a bank. The Oconee Sheriff’s Office had been investigating her for three months and issued 15 warrants for her arrest. She is being held at the Oconee County Detention Center with a $100,000 bond.

Alexander Hunter

Alexander Hunter, 34 from Simpsonville, is in jail for allegedly breaking into cars. The sheriff’s office caught him on Monday. His bond was set at $98,000, and he will have to wear a GPS device if he is released from the Oconee County Detention Center.
