Several May Showers fall in OC

It was a very wet May in the Golden Corner of South Carolina; however, 18 days of rain did not set a record, explains Official U.S. Weather Observer Barbara Wilson. “In May of this year, I recorded 13.72 inches that was over 18 days. That was not the wettest May that we have had, the wettest was in 1976 when we had 16.40 inches.” Rainfall amounts may differ where you live; Wilson recorded these figures from her weather station at Hickory Hollow Farm in Walhalla, which is about one-mile from the county seat.
