Severe Weather and Flood Safety Week is Appropriate This Week, Says SC-DNR Climate Office Forecasters

South Carolina’s weather has been quiet for a while, but things are changing. It’s turning more active, and we’ll face a few different hazards this week.

It’s appropriate that this week has been proclaimed by Governor McMaster to be Severe Weather and Flood Safety Week here in South Carolina because we have the potential to see some of both severe weather and flooding this week.

It’s a good time to visit South Carolina Emergency Management  Agency’s  tornadothunderstorm and flooding preparedness pages to make sure you’re ready to face these potential hazards.

If you use social media, look for posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for severe weather and flooding safety information from SCEMD, the National Weather Service and from us at the Department of Natural Resources
