Severe weather threat for South Carolina on Thursday, March 18

According to the South Carolina DNR State Climate Office, most of the state of is under a risk for severe weather for Thursday, as indicated by the National Weather Service (NWS).

This severe weather event has the potential for widespread damaging winds, hail and tornadoes—a few of them likely to be stronger and have a longer track.

Estimated timing of impacts by region in the state is as followed:

Upstate: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Midlands: 12 to 4 p.m.

East of I-95: 3 to 6 p.m.
