Shred Chances of becoming a Victim of ID Theft

Protect yourself from identity theft by shredding personal documents at the City of Clemson’s free Community Smart Shred Event on May 3.  The event from 9am to 1pm in the upper parking lot at Clemson City Hall, located at 1250 Tiger Boulevard is free to all in the community.  There is a limit of 4 to 5 boxes or bags per person, though.  A food drive tent will also be accepting donations of canned and non-perishable food items to benefit Clemson Community Care. White and colored paper items accepted for shredding include invoices, credit reports, applications, credit card receipts, bank statements, letters, contracts, canceled checks, obsolete tax returns, old documents and other personal information. Staples, rubber bands, folders, paper clips, etc. do not need to be removed before shredding occurs.
