Simmons named New Principal of Blue Ridge Elementary

At last night’s work session meeting of the Board of Trustees for the School District of Oconee County, the recommendation of Lisa Simmons as the new principal of Blue Ridge Elementary was accepted.  The effective date of this appointment is July 1, 2014. Simmons has 15 years of experience as a teacher and administrator. Four of these 15 years were spent teaching in Title I schools. She is currently the Principal at Tamassee-Salem Elementary School. “After being a resident of Seneca for almost 10 years, I am thrilled to be able to give back to the community and serve as the principal of Blue Ridge Elementary School. I am looking forward to working with the faculty, staff, students, and families of this amazing school,” said Simmons.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from Clemson University, a master’s degree in education from Southern Wesleyan University, and a master’s degree in administration and supervision from the University of Phoenix.
