Singleton and Wilson honored by OC Council

The Oconee County Council at their meeting Tuesday night honored Longtime Oconee County Sheriff James Singleton and his Chief Deputy Terry Wilson for their many years of service.  Singleton retired at the end of 2012 after 20 years as sheriff.  Wilson served 20 years in the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office, the last 10 as chief deputy.  Oconee County Council Chairman Joel Thrift presented each with paperwork giving them their service revolvers.  In other action at the first meeting of the New Year, the Council selected new officers.  The Council chose to keep things as they currently are with Joel Thrift returning as chairman, Paul Corbeil as vice-chairman and Wayne McCall as chairman pro-tem.
