SLED Officers will Embark on 140 Mile Relay for Special Olympics

South Carolina law enforcement officers will begin a 140-mile relay on Thursday on behalf of the Special Olympics’ Flame of Hope, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said they are proud to support the event.

The torch run will set out from Clemson University’s Jervey Meadows Field behind the softball field continues a commitment to increase awareness, raise funds, and provide support for more than 30,000 Special Olympic athletes. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Torch Run Executive Council announced $780,000 were raised during fundraising efforts in 2021 for the Special Olympics.
