Small Plane Departed From Oconee Regional Crashed Sunday in NC

An investigator from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has arrived at the crash site to conduct an investigation. The wreckage of the Beechcraft will be transported to Atlanta for further analysis. A preliminary report on the crash will be issued within 2-3 weeks, while the final report determining the cause will be released at a later date.

The Orange County, NC Sheriff’s Office said the pilot was 66 year-old John Bofinger, Jr of Hewitt, NJ.
