Sodexo to continue serving Food in SDOC

Students in the School District of Oconee County (SDOC) will dine on food from Sodexo for another year, explains District Finance Director Gloria Moore. “They have been in our district for the last five years but we did have to go through a process to pick a company. We put it out for bid, three companies were interested and Sodexo was chosen. They have really good plans for the year coming up with some things to improve as we know everyone can improve. We are excited about them coming back; they will continue the breakfast in the classroom at several schools where everybody gets to eat free. They also have a program for after school where in some schools kids get to have dinner at school. So, we are really thankful that they are interested in helping our communities be well fed.” At their meeting earlier this month, the Board of Trustees for the SDOC approved a one-year agreement with Sodexo that has an option of renewal for up to five years.
