South Carolina’s Democratic and Republican Jume Primary Elections

The presidential preference primaries in South Carolina have concluded. The next event on the election schedule is the Democratic and Republican primary elections on June 11. These elections are conducted to enable both political parties to select their nominees for the General Election in November. Residents of Oconee who are interested in running as primary election candidates for any of the various offices up for election should submit their applications to the county elections office in Walhalla. The filing period is from Saturday, March 16 to Monday, April 1. This election year is expected to see a high voter turnout in November, as Oconee County voters will be choosing not only a president but also a county sheriff.
