Special Municipal Election scheduled for Walhalla

A special election is planned for the City of Walhalla this November. The death Friday afternoon of Walhalla City Councilwoman Kathy Rogers will require a special election the third week of November. Walhalla voters will be asked to go to the polls on Nov. 18 to fill the unexpired term of the late Rogers, who at the time of her death was serving a four-year term that runs through 2017. Candidate qualifying takes place at the Oconee County Board of Elections Office between noon on Sept. 12 and noon on Sept. 22.
