Sports Update For Wednesday, August 28th, 2019; #1 Clemson Ready For Tomorrow Night’s Game With Georgia Tech

(Seneca, SC)—-#1 Clemson is now one day away from their first football game of the season as they prepare to play ACC rival tomorrow night in Death Valley.

Clemson starting right tackle Tremayne Anchrum says that the Tigers are ready for tomorrow’s night game to begin the season.

“I like where our team is at,” said Anchrum. “I think we have really good energy. We have a lot of young guys ready to prove themselves, ready to get after it. And, with our coaching staff and the leaders we have, I feel like we can direct that energy to a really good place, so, I think we are ready to play.”

Week One of the high school football season is Friday night and two top-10 preseason Anderson County high schools are ready to begin the season.

One of those teams is the B-HP Bears who will travel to Powdersville Friday night in the first game of the season for both schools.

B-HP Head Coach Russell Blackston anticipates that Powdersville will spread the ball around and spread things out offensively. The Patriots, according to Blackston, has switched to a four man front from a three man front on defense.

Blackston said the Bears will run the football and use short play action passes on offense. Coach Blackston anticipates a great game at Powdersville.

The Yellow Jackets of T.L. Hanna will begin their season at home Friday night by hosting Emerald High School, who picked up their first win of the season last Friday night during week zero.

T.L. Hanna Head Coach Jason Tone says that Emerald is well coached on film and he feels it will be a good test for the Yellow Jackets.

Coach Tone feels that the Yellow Jacket defense will be tested due to some offensive change at Emerald and he believes that his offense will be tested with the size of the Emerald defense.

Our coverage of Seneca High School football begins Friday night at 6pm with the McDonald’s tailgate show followed by the Tri-State Imports pregame show at 7pm and then kickoff at 7:30pm from Tom Bass Field as Seneca hosts Chapman.
