Sports Update For Friday, June 21st, 2019; Clemson Golfer Bryson Nimmer Named First Team Ping All-American

(Seneca, SC)————————Clemson golfer Bryson Nimmer has been named a 2019 Division One first team Ping All-American as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America yesterday. 

South Carolina golfer Scott Stevens was named to the third team. 

Kyle Cottam from Clemson was an Honorable Mention selection. 

Also, Nimmer and fellow Clemson golfer William Nottingham were named to the All-ACC Academic men’s golf team recently. It was the fourth selection to the All-ACC Academic team for Nimmer, who was a first team All-ACC golfer on the course four consecutive years. 

Clemson women’s golfers Alice Hewson and Ana Paula Valdes were named to the All-ACC Academic women’s golf team recently. Hewson becomes the first Clemson women’s golfer to make first team All-ACC on the course and in the classroom in the same season. 

South Carolina men’s tennis player Paul Jubb has earned a wild card entry to the 2019 Wimbledon Championships, which begins July 1st. 

Jubb recently won the NCAA men’s Singles Championship.
