Sports Update For Friday, March 15th, 2019; New Seneca Football Coach Holds Meet And Greet At Seneca High School

(Seneca, SC)———————    Last night, new Seneca Football Coach David Crane and his assistant coaches held a meet and greet in the media center at Seneca High School. As the staff prepares for spring practice that begins soon, Coach Crane talked about what he shared with those players, parents and fans who attended last night’s event. 

Crane says he wants to create a championship culture not only on the field, but also in the classroom and the weight room. Crane says that he wants the students athletes to make that transition to the next level in regards to attending a college or university. Crane says that the weight room directly translates to the field on Friday night’s and Crane says there is a lot work to do in that area. 

Walhalla defeated Seneca and West-Oak in golf action yesterday. Walhalla’s team score was 162 with Seneca finishing second with a team score of 192 and West-Oak finishing third with a team score of 197. The medalist in the match was Daniel Crowe from Walhalla with an individual score of 37. The low individual scorer for Seneca was Tyson Gentry with a 39. The low individual scorer for West-Oak was Carson Williams with a 38. 

West-Oak defeated Walhalla in softball action yesterday by a score of 4-0. Shelby Duckett had two hits for Walhalla. Black and Still had two hits and two RBI’s for West-Oak. 

Seneca defeated Crescent 5-1 in women’s soccer action yesterday. Reagan Baird had three goals and two assist for the Lady Cats. Amma Merck had four saves in goal for Seneca, who will travel to Pendleton for a game Monday at 7pm. 

Walhalla is scheduled to host B-HP in baseball action tonight with a 7pm first pitch.
