Sports Update For Friday, October 11th, 2019; Seneca and West-Oak Square off in rivalry and conference game tonight at warrior field

(Seneca, SC)———–It is a rivalry game but also a Western AAA Conference matchup tonight at Warrior Field at West-Oak High School as the Seneca Bobcats hit the road to take on the West-Oak Warriors in a game you can hear this evening right here on 94.1 The Lake.

Even though it is a rivalry game, West-Oak Coach Tim Carson says the focus of his team will be on improving as a team as well as trying to win the game.

“I’m not a huge guy into rivalry games. I look at it as just another game we are going to play and another chance for us to get better and go out and prove that we can play some football,” says Coach Carson.

One of the biggest games in the Upstate tonight will take place in Piedmont as #2 Daniel will play at #7 Wren.

Even though this game will feature two high powered offenses, Daniel Coach Jeff Fruster believes that the game will be decided on which team win the battle on the line of scrimmage.

“I think it would be very easy to say that most of the pressure will be on my defense because of the average scores they are getting per game,” said Coach Fruster.

“I think this game will come down to what most games come down to and that’s the line of scrimmage and whoever can control it best,” according to Coach Fruster. “Whoever can hold the pocket the longest for their quarterback should see a little bit of success. And the same thing defensively, if you’ve got a defensive line that can create penetration and reset the line of scrimmage, then you should see some success defensively.
