Sports Update For Monday, March 18th, 2019; Seneca Softball Wins Bracket In Byrnes Invitational

(Seneca, SC)——————————-The Seneca Softball team won their bracket this past weekend in the Byrnes Invitational. The Lady Cats defeated Greer 8-0 in game one, defeated Laurens in game two by a score of 2-1 and won game three over Travelers Rest by a score of 8-1. 

The Walhalla Baseball team lost to B-HP Friday night by a score of 6-3. Landon Crane had two hits and two RBI’s for the Razorbacks. 

The Golden Corner Invitational Track Meet was held this past weekend at Seneca High School. Seneca won the event with a combined men’s and women’s team score of 397. West-Oak finished 4th in the meet with a combined team score of 85. Addison Berry from West-Oak won the girls 100 and 200 meter dash as well as the Long Jump and Triple Jump competition on the girls side while the Seneca girls won the 4×400 and 4×1600 relay’s as well as the girls 800 spring medley and the girls distance medley. Daizha Mayes from Seneca won the girls Shot Put and the girls Discus Throw and Elihas Miller from Seneca won the Girls Javelin Throw. On the men’s side, O’Rell Fisher from Seneca won the boys 100 meter dash and the boys Long Jump and Triple Jump while Seneca’s Damarion Alexander won the boys 200 meter dash. Kyle Harrison from Seneca won the boys 400 meter hurdles and the Seneca men won the boys 4×400 meter relay and the boys 800 spring relay and the boys distance relay. Bryce Hamby from Seneca won the boys Pole Vault. Luke Lynn from Seneca won the Boys Shot Put competition and the boys Javelin Throw. Landon Carter from West-Oak won the boys Discus Throw.

 

Seneca’s Will Dodd competed in the Steeple Chase at the Glover Smiley Classic at Spartanburg High School and won the event with a time of 6:52.75.
