Sports Update for Thursday, October 31st, 2019; more on the line than just a conference championship tomorrow night at Seneca

(Seneca, SC)—————The outright Region 1-AAA championship will be on the line tomorrow night at Seneca as the Bobcats host the Pendleton Bulldogs at Bobcat Stadium at Tom Bass Field.

The game will be the culmination of the regular season for both schools and Pendleton Head Coach Yon Radford says his players know what’s at stake in tomorrow night’s game.

“You’ve gotta have goals and I’m sure this is one of everybody’s goals,” says Coach Radford. “I mean, you don’t have to say a whole lot about it, I mean, they know what they are playing for, just like Seneca knows what they are playing for.”

Plus, as Coach Radford pointed out, the winner of tomorrow’s night game will have home field advantage throughout the entirety of the Upper State AAA playoffs due to Region 1-AAA being at the top of the playoff bracket this year.

Meanwhile, the Walhalla Razorbacks will host #5 Wren tomorrow night in Picket Post in the final regular season and conference game for both schools.

Tomorrow night’s game will go a long way to deciding playoff seedings in Region 1-AAAA, as Walhalla Coach Padgett Johnson explains.

“If we win the game against Wren and B-HP defeats Daniel, you could end up in a tie for 2nd place and then it would just all come out to tie-breakers,” says Coach Johnson. “You would probably end up third but you never know how that is going to shake out.”

Coach Johnson said the second and third place teams in the Region would host a home playoff game in the first round.
